Nature Adventure

Look for frogs, hidden treasures and animal tracks as we make our way through the landscape playing games and singing.  This half-day camp is for the younger crew and focuses on experiencing the magic of nature in a hands-on, fun way.  Timeless exploration, storytelling and free play balanced by creative nature-based activities and games. Group participation skills are invisibly woven into the day. 

This camp is appropriate for first time as well as experienced campers ages 4½-6½.

In addition to our core curriculum, this camp may include:

  • Nature awareness practice

  • Basics of staying safe in the wilderness

  • Lost proofing

  • Nature games

  • Animal tracking

  • Bird language

  • Shelter and fort building

  • Learning about wild edibles in a safe way

  • Natural dyes and art projects

  • Hiking hills, creeks, and valleys

  • Creating nature guides

  • and more...

*With our very varied economical situations in the Bay Area, families have differing abilities to pay. We want our programs to serve as many children as possible regardless of financial situation.*

**Rate A** - represents the actual cost of running a program in this area and is comparable with the rates of several local specialty camps. It funds our long-term goals and work.

**Rate B** - covers our basic costs for running this particular program, but it does not cover our organizational costs.

**Rate C** - does not cover the cost of program and is subsidized by Rate A and donations.

AVAILABLE SESSIONS

Ages: 4½-6½
Location: This camp takes place at a beautiful 40 acre property, 7 minutes from downtown Truckee, CA
Times: 9am - 3:00pm Daily
• Optional early pickup available at 1:45pm each day
• For those wanting to stay until 3, we have a restful time from 1:45-2:30, listening to stories, resting and drawing in an indoor space, which allows our youngest campers to be able to stay the longer hours in our very active outdoor camp, without getting over-tired.

Multiple weeklong sessions are offered throughout the summer, so you can pick and choose the dates that work best with your schedule. Click the session links below to register.
