What could be a better way to spend summer than swimming in Lake Tahoe, learning about plants and animals, immersed in sunshine, pine trees and crystal clear waters?

That's what we thought. Though we might be biased of course. We are so blessed to be able to have summer camp in such an amazing place. Whether you are local or coming up for the week, it is a great way to spend summer vacation.

What makes our camp unique is that we not only enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe but we also learn about its many plant and animal inhabitants and inspire a care taking ethic and love of nature in the children. We teach essential naturalist knowledge and skills through our badge system, while also taking plenty of time to just enjoy playing on the beach.

This camp is a great introduction to our core curriculum but also suitable for the experienced camper. Our groups are small and offer plenty of individual attention, often feeling more like a summer adventure with friends than a large formalized camp. We have high standards of social emotional safety and value each child.

We visit several amazing locations a 15 minute drive maximum from central Tahoe City.

In addition to our core curriculum this camp may include:

  • Swimming

  • Paddleboarding or kayaking

  • Basic bouldering

  • Beach play

  • Animal tracking

  • Plant identification

  • Carving skills

  • Foam arrow archery

  • Map and compass skills

  • A restoration or clean up project

*With our very varied economical situations in the Bay Area, families have differing abilities to pay. We want our programs to serve as many children as possible regardless of financial situation.*

**Rate A** - represents the actual cost of running a program in this area and is comparable with the rates of several local specialty camps. It funds our long-term goals and work.

**Rate B** - covers our basic costs for running this particular program, but it does not cover our organizational costs.

**Rate C** - does not cover the cost of program and is subsidized by Rate A and donations.
